This launch resonated because it addressed a significant pain point for a specific audience: the prohibitive cost and complexity of professional audio software for voiceover work. The creator's personal story and clear articulation of the benefits, coupled with a free tier, likely drove high engagement and positive sentiment in the r/SideProject community.
Strongly relatable problem statement (high cost of DAWs for voiceovers)
Clear and concise explanation of the solution and its benefits
Leveraging a specific, pain-point-driven use case (voiceovers)
Highlighting key differentiators (100% local processing, auto-save, dual-track recording)
Offering a freemium model to lower adoption barriers
that was a fair question. I asked the question lot of times in my head. The context is 200usd was my per month salary in my country. I need to save for atleast 6-8 months to afford the software with my financial stability. So I believe this would help alot of people. yeah there is audacity and reaper which is really great. but the app lacks some of the features i want. So i feel happy that i spend a year in this instead of the 200usd. and i'm really happy you asked. the first time feel grateful for the decision.
InformationFun4466My first question is - was a year of your time worth less than 200$ then?
ZeidLovesAIThe value of building something was worth more than $200 if you ask me. The result easily worth $200…. The knowledge you likely gained is priceless. And don’t forget the friends we made along the way. Truly great job!
RedditCommenter38I mean, zig (a whole programming language with a compiler built from scratch) exists simply because it's creator wanted better software for designing sound processing software... So this seems justified...
mannsionfucking impressive, Really Great Work 👏🏻👏🏻 That's why I love software development, we build anything we need.
